Privacy policy
1. Scope
This policy applies to licklab.net, portal.licklab.net, LickLaboratory tester applications and accounts, licensing services, support, software downloads, and pre-release LickLaboratory software. A third-party site linked from LickLaboratory has its own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
- Application and account data: name, email address, application answers, consent, approval status, account security settings, and authentication records.
- Licensing data: tester and license identifiers, product edition and release channel, authorization and expiration details, activation-code status, active-device count, privacy-minimized hashed device identifiers, activation and deactivation events, validation times, and revocation status.
- Support and feedback: messages, ratings, bug reports, and files or diagnostics you choose to submit. A support bundle may contain app and operating-system versions, relevant LickLaboratory event records, paths, filenames, settings, or logs. Review it before sending.
- Basic technical and security data: IP address, browser and device type, requested page, timestamp, HTTP status, security events, and similar server logs created by hosting, mail, security, and download systems.
- Cookies: essential session, security, trusted-device, and consent-choice cookies described below.
LickLaboratory does not automatically upload source audio, recordings, temporary PCM audio, generated stems, or application telemetry. Those materials leave your device only when you intentionally submit them, such as by attaching a support file.
3. How and why we use information
We use information to review tester applications; create and secure accounts; issue, validate, transfer, recover, expire, or revoke licenses; enforce device limits; provide downloads and updates; answer support requests; investigate abuse and security incidents; maintain reliability; communicate about the tester program; establish or defend legal claims; and comply with law.
4. Cookies and similar technology
Public pages store your cookie choice for up to 180 days. Tester and administrator services use essential session and security cookies; trusted-device recognition may persist for up to 90 days when that feature is selected. We currently use no advertising, cross-site tracking, or analytics cookies. Selecting “Allow optional cookies” currently enables no additional cookies.
Application forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent abuse. Cloudflare may process network, browser, and device signals under its own privacy policy. Blocking essential cookies or Turnstile may prevent sign-in or form submission.
5. Disclosure of information
We disclose information only as needed to service providers that host, secure, email, deliver, or support LickLaboratory; professional advisers; authorities or parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety; or a successor involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale. Providers may use information only for contracted services and their lawful operational obligations.
We do not sell personal information, rent mailing lists, or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. Duration depends on program participation, account or license status, support needs, security and fraud risks, backup rotation, disputes, and legal or accounting duties. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful exceptions and normal backup rotation.
7. Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the service, including encrypted transport, restricted administrative access, protected signing material, privacy-minimized device identifiers, audit logging, backups, and separation of development and production credentials. No Internet service or storage system is completely secure.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or exercise other rights provided by applicable law. We may verify your identity and may retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute records. Email support@licklab.net. You may also complain to an applicable privacy regulator.
9. Children and international use
LickLaboratory is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a tester application for a child under 13. Information may be processed in the United States and in locations where service providers operate. Users outside the United States are responsible for determining whether use is lawful in their location.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as LickLaboratory changes. The date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice when required by law.
Website terms of use
By using LickLaboratory websites, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the sites.
Permitted use
You may use public content for personal, informational purposes. You may not disrupt or probe services without written authorization; bypass access or security controls; introduce malicious code; scrape protected areas; impersonate another person; misuse application, account, download, or activation systems; or use the sites unlawfully.
Intellectual property
LickLaboratory software, names, logos, site design, text, graphics, and other original materials belong to Bayou Cyber Solutions, LLC or its licensors unless stated otherwise. No rights are granted except the limited right to use the sites and authorized software. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.
Information and external links
Site content is general product information, not legal, financial, or professional advice. Features, availability, and release plans may change. External sites are controlled by their operators; links do not create responsibility for their content, security, or practices.
Disclaimer and liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WEBSITES AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. BAYOU CYBER SOLUTIONS, LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM SITE USE. NON-WAIVABLE CONSUMER RIGHTS REMAIN UNAFFECTED.
Private Alpha testing terms
These terms apply when you request access to, activate, download, or use a private pre-release LickLaboratory build.
1. Eligibility and authorization
Access is invitation-only. We may approve, deny, suspend, or revoke access. You must provide accurate information, keep account credentials confidential, and promptly report suspected compromise. Access is personal and may not be sold, shared, sublicensed, or transferred.
2. Evaluation license and device limit
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and evaluate authorized pre-release builds on no more than two active devices, unless your displayed entitlement says otherwise. Authorization may be limited by edition, operating system, channel, version, device, or expiration date.
3. Pre-release risk
Alpha software is unfinished. It may contain errors, lose settings or generated data, perform poorly, change without notice, or stop working. Do not rely on it for production, safety-critical, or irreplaceable work. Keep independent backups of source audio, playlists, exports, and settings.
4. Restrictions
You may not redistribute software, private links, or activation credentials; bypass or interfere with licensing, device, expiration, revocation, security, or update controls; use another tester’s account; disrupt services; introduce malicious code; or use LickLaboratory unlawfully. Reverse-engineering restrictions apply only to the extent allowed by law and do not limit rights granted by applicable open-source licenses.
5. Feedback
You may provide ideas, bug reports, screenshots, recordings, logs, or other feedback. You retain ownership of original material. You grant Bayou Cyber Solutions, LLC a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, display, perform, and incorporate feedback into products and services without compensation or attribution. Do not submit material you lack authority to share.
6. Confidentiality
Private builds, credentials, download links, non-public features, screenshots, documentation, and performance results marked or reasonably understood as confidential must not be disclosed without written permission. This excludes information lawfully known without restriction, independently developed, made public without your breach, or required to be disclosed by law.
7. Ownership, updates, and termination
LickLaboratory and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. We may require updates, revoke builds or licenses, suspend services, or end testing at any time. When authorization ends, stop using the build and remove it if requested. Provisions concerning ownership, feedback, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability, and disputes survive termination.
8. Alpha disclaimer and liability limit
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. BAYOU CYBER SOLUTIONS, LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION. TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM PRIVATE ALPHA ACCESS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THAT ACCESS OR US$100. NON-WAIVABLE RIGHTS REMAIN UNAFFECTED.
9. Governing law
Louisiana law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be brought in a state or federal court having jurisdiction where Bayou Cyber Solutions, LLC maintains its registered office, unless applicable law requires another forum. You consent to personal jurisdiction there. Before filing, each party will make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after written notice.
